Brown Bag Wine Tasting with William Shatner” Toasts TASTE Award Wins Web series, of which CRN Digital Talk Radio is a partner, receives three honors.

LOS ANGELES, CA – December 11, 2015: “Brown Bag Wine Tasting with William Shatner” a popular web series which boasts CRN Digital Talk Radio as a partner, was named the winner in three categories for the 7th Annual TASTE Awards, which celebrate the year’s best in food, fashion, and lifestyle programs on television, in film, online, and on radio.

The program – which stars award-winning actor William Shatner and is distributed by Ora.TV – received awards for Best Branded Program, Best Entertainment News Series – Online and the Ferrara Flame Award for Best Branded Video Promotion or Campaign Award (specifically for “Brown Bag’s” episode featuring Stags Leap Wine Cellars).

CRN Digital Talk Radio CEO and President Michael J. Horn – who is also a sommelier – helped develop the series with Shatner and assists in the selecting and procuring of “Brown Bag’s” wines. He and CRN are partners in the series along with Shatner and producer Scott Sternberg. The trio developed the series before selling it to Ora TV.

I’m so thrilled the TASTE Awards honored ‘Brown Bag’ with these awards,” Horn said Thursday from his Los Angeles office. “‘Brown Bag’ is a fun way to introduce people to new wines and we’re happy so many people enjoy it. I hope ‘Brown Bag’ and William Shatner fans celebrate with us and raise a glass of their favorite wine.”

Brown Bag Wine Tasting with William Shatner” started as a YouTube series before being sold to Ora TV. Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor William Shatner and a guest (usually a celebrity) enjoy a glass of wine, but with a twist: neither knows the label being served, and the varietal is occasionally kept secret, as well. Shatner and guests discuss the wine and eventually learn what they’ve been drinking. Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Carrolla, Lavar Burton, Brandi Glanville, Joel Gretsch, and Matt Walsh are a few of the guests who’ve taken part in “Brown Bag Wine Tasting.”

Shatner is also a member of the TASTE Hall of Fame 2015 class, presented by the TASTE Awards. He was honored with the TASTE Award’s Lifetime Achievement Award at last year’s event.

Brown Bag” was also nominated for Best Drink or Beverage Program: Web and Best Reality Series, Food or Drink. “UNCORKED” and “Bravo’s Top Chef” were the respective winners in those categories.

Two of CRN Digital Talk Radio’s other programs are nominated in the Best Food or Drink Radio Broadcast category. “What’s Cookin’ Today” and “Slow Living Radio,” air on the CRN Digital Talk Radio network are part of the TASTE Awards’ Viewers Choice category, which is still open to the public for voting. Those winners will receive their honors on February 11th, 2016 at a Red Carpet Awards celebration in San Francisco. Viewers Choice voting is open to the public and available online at TheTasteAwards.com through December 25.
